Balance relates to the way we distribute different elements on a page with focus on how visually light or heavy those elements are. Generally there are two forms of balancing a page.
1. Symmetrical Balance
Can be achieved when the elements are evenly distributed around a central horizontal or vertical axis. If the elements on both sides of the axis have identical forms, it's called horizontal symmetry. If the elements on each side of the axis don't have identical forms, it's called approximate horizontal symmetry. A third kind of symmetry is radial. That is achieved if the elements are build equally around a central point.
2. Asymmetrical Balance
Can be achieved when the elements are not evenly distributed around a central point or axis. Asymmetrical balance is useful when we want to create a sense of visual tension.
